Cleaver Awards Winners 2022/2023

SOUTH AFRICA’S BEST BUTCHERIES ANNOUNCED

Johannesburg: 09 May 2023: Now in their 18th year, the Cleaver Awards, which are a Red Meat Industry Forum initiative, recently honoured the best of the best of local butcheries across South Africa.

The awards have become well-respected by butcheries and consumers nationwide. This is endorsed by the fact that a record breaking 135 873 nominations were achieved this year.

All qualifying butcheries are audited by The South African Meat Industry Company (SAMIC) against a stringent 212-point checklist.

The awards luncheon, held on Thursday at Klein Kaap in Centurion, was attended by senior members of the meat production and retail industry, award finalists, judges and media.

Congratulations go to the following winning butcheries, who have been identified as exemplifying excellence in factors including training and upliftment of staff, superior quality, outstanding customer service, value for money, hygiene, and a passion for the business.
